We leave at seven, before the heat, on our boat across to Cadenabbia. From the landing the path climbs through chestnut and beech woods to the small church of San Martino, four hundred metres above the water.
At the top
Your guide carries coffee and warm focaccia in a basket. From the terrace in front of the church you can see three arms of the lake at once.
The walk is steady, not steep. Good shoes are enough; we lend walking poles at the door.
